Announced for Sunday May 3rd, 2020

FORT MYERS BEACH, FLORIDA, March 9, 2020 —The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce announces the 25th Annual Taste of the Beach will be held on Sunday May, 3rd, 2020. The popular food festival held on Fort Myers Beach will include over 20 restaurants, promotional vendors, a beer garden and live music across two stages. The event will run from 11-4 PM.

Local restaurants will serve up samples of their best signature dishes available for purchase. They will be competing for the top Taste of the Beach Award honors in several categories including; Best Appetizer, Best Dessert, Best Chicken Entrée, Best Surf Entree, Best Turf Entree, Best Decorated Booth, and the People’s Choice award.  A panel of celebrity judges will do the honors of judging the food competitors.  Winners will be announced from the main stage at 4:00 pm. Along with tasty treats from the competing restaurants, the always spirited Server Competition will return, pitting server teams from areas restaurants against each other, vying for the coveted “Best Server Team” award!

The Taste of the Beach has come a long way since its inception in a muddy field on San Carlos Island over 20 years ago. Since then, Fort Myers Beach 'Tastes' have been held at various locations on San Carlos and Estero Islands. In 2013 the festival was moved to Old San Carlos Blvd., and there it has grown, successfully drawing bigger crowds and more participants each year.

This year, the Taste evolves once again by presenting the 360 Empire Photo Booth Experience, a 360 degree slow motion video booth.  The 360X can capture videos, GIFs and boomerangs from all angles and then is streamed to an email and social media sharing station where guests can instantly access their videos! The 360X experience, photos and videos will be free of charge for all attendees!

This year’s Taste will also feature an expanded event footprint that will inter-mingle Vendors with Restaurants along with the very popular shaded beer garden.  To sign up your restaurant, business, or server team, call the Chamber at 239-454-7500 or email us at: events@fmbchamber.com .

The Festival gates will open at 11:00 a.m. and food will be served until 4:00 pm or until it runs out. Tickets will be available on line and on-site. Food tickets are $1.00 each, with the average plate costing around $5.00. Admission is $5 for adults; children under 12 years are free.
