It demonstrates that the vibrancy of modern art as it developed in the U.S. resulted from the influx of immigrants and the activity of sojourning foreign artists such as Mexican muralists, as well as the forays of American artists abroad. ¡ARTE VIVA! is a collaborative initiative that brings together the arts and culture organizations and hospitality partners of Florida’s Paradise Coast to communally celebrate the artistic contributions of the Hispanic community. The year-long celebration will feature over 50 dedicated local events, exhibitions, performances, and educational opportunities throughout the destination. Celebrations will include the Mexican Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Cuban photography exhibitions, performances showcasing playwright Quiara Alegira Hudes, dance performances featuring Zarzuela music and flamenco, a series of Latin jazz concerts, and more. Presented by the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB and supported by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, ¡ARTE VIVA! will enhance the visitor experience as well as offering residents community-wide educational and entertainment experiences throughout the year.
