MELBOURNE, Fla., April 26, 2021 — Brevard Zoo has been nominated as one of the best zoos in North America by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards. Zoo enthusiasts can vote once per day through Friday, June 4 at www.10best.com/awards/travel/zoo.

In 2020, the Zoo came in fifth place overall and was the highest-ranked facility in the southeastern United States.

The nomination highlights the Zoo’s interactive offerings, such as kayaking around animal habitats and exploring a tropical rainforest from above.

“Our physical footprint may not be as large as some of the other nominees’,” said executive director Keith Winsten, “but what we lack in size, we make up for in innovative, engaging experiences that connect our guests and community to nature in meaningful ways—which is what modern zoos are all about.”
