TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 25, 2021): The word family has different meanings to each individual person. Regardless of what that means to you, Florida welcomes all kinds of families! Florida is anything but a typical destination getaway; the Sunshine State encourages all its visitors to embrace their own identities while traveling. Across the state, events that celebrate pride are a welcoming presence for all types of families who want to join in on the fun.

Celebrate diversity in paradise in Key West, where from June 2-6 the city will welcome visitors for its annual Pride festivities. Sip on Stoli cocktails and champagne at the all-welcome kick-off gala hosted by Key West Pride and Island House Resort. Enjoy pool parties at guesthouses and emporiums, drag shows by Key West’s top performers, and so much more. The festivities will end with the time-honored Key West Tea Dance and Rainbow Roast, a drag-themed dinner with traditional luau fair.

Head over to Jacksonville and visit the Museum of Contemporary Art for the Many Sides of Pride Film Festival. Over the course of 4 days, MOCA will present 10 films highlighting the diversity of LGBTQ stories and storytellers, celebrating their impact on the world of cinema. After that, guests can visit the Jacksonville Public Main Library and enjoy a delicious Drag Queen Brunch.

Bring the entire family along to the Museum of Discovery & Science in Fort Lauderdale and be part of its 3rd Annual Pride Day Celebration. Make your very own Pride flag, turn a white shirt into a tie-dyed masterpiece, and witness an incredible explosion of colors in a special Pride Kaboom! Participate in the museum’s virtual event to learn how to build a painting pendulum to create dazzling works of art and enjoy positive messages about embracing differences during a Pride Day story time session.

At the Boca Raton Museum of Art, be treated to an informative presentation exploring the intersection of portraiture, various forms of expression, and LGBTQ identity.

Naples Pride is a celebration of unity and diversity, an all-inclusive, family-friendly event that brings the community together for a day packed with engrossing attractions and activities. Naples Pride will feature entertainers, speakers, exhibitors, and much more to create a day dedicated towards equality. Groove to the music spun by DJ Kooshie and gather with family and loved ones for an endlessly inclusive event.

Stonewall Pride remembers the historic events that took place during the Stonewall Riots, celebrating how the LGBTQ movement would come to shape the community. This annual festival in Wilton Manors produces fascinating drag shows and new aged beats by South Florida’s hottest DJ’s. Spend the afternoon watching exhibitors and dining from food trucks and vendors before the night culminates with the enchanting Stonewall Pride parade.

Celebrate Pride Month in luxury with the “Love Wins” package at Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa. Indulge in champagne and cheese trays while relaxing in a seaside suite, a perfect combination for the ideal tropical escape on a budget. The only all-suite beachfront property in Palm Beach County, Palm Beach Marriott offers spacious and stylish condo-style living fit for all vacation types, whether it's a family trip or romantic getaway.

In West Volusia, a return to normal travel means more events for visitors. Abbey Bar in Downtown DeLand is the place to be for engaging nightly events, like Drag Bino, served alongside drinks. Sample dishes at the Abbey Bar-hosted Rainbow Cook-off, where chefs will base their designs off one of the colors of the rainbow. DeLand’s Pulse Remembrance Ceremony will be held on June 12th, a silent demonstration held to mark the lives lost at the shooting that took place at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. Abbey Bar will hold a toast following the demonstration.

Throughout Pensacola’s PRIDE weekend, partake in an LGBT Mini Movie Marathon, themed dinners and celebrations at local venues such as Cabaret and Bedlam, beachside activities near Portofino Island and more. But as another of Florida’s incredibly inclusive cities, Pensacola has events for visitors to check out any time of the year. Visit the Pensacola Little Theatre for LGBTQ-friendly productions like La Cage aux Folles, The Rocky Horror Show and others, and experience festivals such as The Stamped; LGBTQ Film Festival in August, and the annual Foo Foo Festival in November.

Celebrating Pride at the Palm Beaches has never been easier thanks to a growing list of exciting festivals and events to keep any ambitious visitor occupied. Delray Beach Pride Fest will feature live performances, a bar crawl, and dog walk. The Palm Beach Pride Market is an open-air marketplace packed with some of the local community’s favorite Pride vendors, along with many new ones, who will offer quality products, fresh produce, gourmet meals and treats, and handicrafts. The oldest gay bar in Florida, H.G Rooster is not only a popular venue, but it has also made significant contributions to the City’s LGBTQ community over its close to 60 years of existence. Each year, the Stonewall Black and White Ball recognizes LGBTQ history and celebrates opportunities for the community’s future.

Regardless of what type of family you have, remember that Florida is a destination that embraces and accepts all different types of families. When planning your next family vacay, know that you are welcomed in Florida!
