Florida Will See 148 New Accommodations

Opening by the End of 2020

Holiday makers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to booking their next Florida trip, with 148 new accommodations due to open in 2020. Representing more than 21,000 guest rooms, the properties range from eco-lodgings to luxury wellness resorts.

 

Luminary Hotel & Co scheduled to open in downtown Fort Myers

Mainsail Lodging & Development has unveiled plans to build the Luminary Hotel & Co Scheduled to open in 2020, the hotel will open under the Marriot Autograph Collection Hotels. The hotel will be 12-storeys high and boast 237 guest rooms and suites overlooking the Caloosahatchee and Fort Myers historic River District. Guests and gastronomes alike can savour delicious meals at the hotel’s signature restaurant or street-side diner or sip a cocktail on the rooftop bar. In addition, there will be a culinary theatre, which will welcome internationally acclaimed chefs to teach culinary techniques to guests as well as members of the public.

Compass Hotel to open on Anna Maria Sound, Bradenton

Margaritaville will come to life at the first ever, Jimmy Buffett-themed Compass by Margaritaville Hotels & Resorts property on Anna Maria Sound in Bradenton. Slated to open in 2020, the six-story, 123-room hotel will feature a free-standing Floridays Restaurant and Grill, modern, nature-inspired room designs with Margaritaville’s signature bedding, oversized bathrooms with rainfall showers, smart television and luxury onsite amenities. It is located at the destination’s newest marina at One Particular Harbour, overlooking Anna Maria Sound.

LEGOLAND Resort Florida to Open a New Pirate Themed Hotel

LEGOLAND Florida has just announced its latest themed onsite accommodation, Pirate Island Hotel, which is due to open on April 17th 2020. The new five-story hotel will feature a pirate themed restaurant and a giant pirate ship that’s perfect for photo opportunities. Guests will also have the chance to interact with some of their favourite LEGO characters.

Eco-Camping in the Everglades

Everglades National Park’s Flamingo region, located in the Florida Keys, is to offer 20 new furnished eco-tents for overnight camping for stays beginning on 1 October 2019. The 186-square-foot tents, erected on platforms, have a choice of queen or two double beds.

1920’s Hotel to Reopen on Florida’s Sports Coast

Originally opened in 1927, the Hacienda Hotel will once again open its doors to guests for the first time in over 90 years starting fall of 2020. The 40 room hotel will transport guests back in time with detailed restorations to its traditional Spanish style architecture, done solely by referencing photographs from the 1920’s. Playing off its surroundings, the in-house restaurant will feature a mix of Florida/Mediterranean cuisine best enjoyed on the sweeping outdoor patio or private dining room.

Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences to open on Singer Island

Scheduled for completion in early 2020, Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences offers a new paradigm of mindful living on Singer Island for those who are pursuing an unparalleled wellness lifestyle or a relaxing spa getaway. Amrit, which is Sanskrit for “elixir of life,” totals 351 units (hotel and residences). Developed in partnership with the Himalayan Institute, Amrit merges Eastern traditions and inner science with Western luxury, enhanced through modern technologies and personalised programming. Arguably the most wellness-immersive development currently under construction in the United States, the property will offer a bounty of wellness offerings, including mood-enhancing aromatherapy and posture-supportive heat reflexology floors. The property will also feature an exterior sound intrusion block and dawn simulation lighting, as well as wellness programs such as aromatherapy, body and beauty treatments, helping its guests and residents to learn to live consciously, and educating them about how blue light and technology affect sleep quality.

 

 

 

 

Banyan Cay Resort & Golf, A Noble House Resort in West Palm Beach

Set to open in late November of 2020, Banyan Cay Resort & Golf will be West Palm Beach’s new luxury resort experience. Situated on 250 coveted acres in West Palm Beach, Banyan Cay is home to state-of-the art golf practice facilities and Jack Nicklaus’ 300th Signature Golf Course. By late September of 2020, a stunning Luxury Hotel will join the Banyan Cay community, welcoming members and guests to discover 150 boutique guestrooms and suites, two dazzling pools, delectable dining options, a 5,000-square-foot relaxation and wellness centre, and more.

Canopy by Hilton Hotel in West Palm Beach

With expected completion in late 2019, the 13-story Canopy by Hilton Hotel in Downtown West Palm Beach will include 150 rooms, an infinity rooftop pool & bar serving drinks/light bites with city/oceanic views, a full-service restaurant and over 5,000 square feet of event space. Canopy is a new luxury/lifestyle hotel brand for Hilton, and this property is the only location in Florida.

The Ben, Autograph Collection by Marriott in West Palm Beach

Set to open in January 2020, the new 208-room Marriott Autograph’s, The Ben, blends elements of Florida’s fascinating history with today’s modern lifestyle. Guests will enjoy an inspiring library, plus luxuries like an expanded, state-of-the-art fitness centre, rooftop pool with private cabanas and an open-air bar called Spruzzo, serving delectable seafood, gourmet salads and crafted cocktails. The Ben will also feature downtown West Palm Beach’s only waterfront ballroom with spectacular Intracoastal views across to Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean from its top floor.

Bungalows Key Largo to open in the Florida Keys

The 12-acre luxury inclusive, adults-only 135-unit Bungalows Key Largo is scheduled to reopen Dec. 19, 2019, as the Florida Keys’ only all-inclusive resort. Originally opened in December 2018, the property has been closed for renovation since a portion of it was damaged in a fire. Bungalows average 800 square feet, with private outdoor plunge pools or tubs, and include cruise bicycles. The resort offers three restaurants, a food truck, two on-site bars and two six-seat floating Tiki boats. A full-service Zen Garden Spa features a Himalayan salt room and eucalyptus steam room. All-inclusive rates include lodging, 24-hour golf cart pickup and drop-off, food, premium beverages, water toys and activities such as morning yoga, cooking and mixology classes, sunset happy hours, fish fries and pig roasts.

Conch Key Fishing Lodge & Marina now owned by Deadliest Catch star, Erik Brown

Near Marathon and the Long Key Bridge on Florida Bay, the 10-unit boutique Conch Key Fishing Lodge & Marina, has new owners: former “Deadliest Catch” star Erik James, known as James Brown on the program, and his mother Sandy Stillwell. Amenities include a saltwater pool, cafe and convenience store, beach with beach chairs, Tiki hut, barbecue grills, kitchens in most rooms, parking for a vehicle and boat trailer for each unit and a dedicated boat slip and dock for each unit. Boats can be rented on-site, and guests can meet James at the resort.

Deer Run on the Atlantic has reopened on Big Pine Key

On Big Pine Key the four-room boutique-style Deer Run on the Atlantic, a Florida-certified green lodging program bed and breakfast, has reopened in the heart of the National Key Deer Refuge. Utilising organically sourced bedding, supplies and food, the property is a 100 percent plant-based vegan establishment. Guests can enjoy bicycles, kayaks, a daily plant-based full breakfast, an on-site beach, parking, Wi-Fi and private porches.

Panama City Beach’s first condo construction in 10 years  

The first condo construction to take place in Panama City Beach in 10 years – Calypso Resort and Towers’ Tower III is due to open early March 2020 and will be located adjacent to Pier Park, offering striking Gulf views and convenient access to the beach just steps away from some of the destination’s favorite shopping and entertainment. This third Calypso Tower will feature 250 executive units with both three-bedroom and one-bedroom plans.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott to open in Panama City Beach

In 2020, Panama City Beach will welcome a brand-new 124-room hotel in the extensive shopping and entertainment district of Pier Park. The St. Joe Company and InterMountain Management broke ground on the joint venture in October 2018 and are planning to cater the property towards families looking to visit the destination year-round.
