Virtual Bike Ride and Garage Sale Set for November.

The Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway are set to host their two signature fall events in conjunction with their Eat, Shop & Play Along A1A campaign.

Now in its 9th year, Spoonbills & Sprockets Cycling Tour will be hosted virtually during the month of November, offering cycling enthusiasts from across the nation the opportunity to participate from wherever they are located. With the traditional 100, 72, 36 and 15 mile options, registered riders may enjoy the outdoors at their leisure, and those capturing their ride may submit their photos for a chance to win the 10th Annual Spoonbills & Sprockets Prize Pack for the 2021 event set to coincide with the organization’s 20th Anniversary of Florida Scenic Highway designations. More information is available at www.spoonbillsandsprockets.com.

Partnering with fellow Florida Scenic Highways including the newly designated Halifax Heritage Byway, the Friends of A1A are also pleased to host the 12th Annual Super Scenic Garage Sale on November 21st spanning more than 72 miles, from Ponte Vedra to Ponce Inlet. This signature event is a community favorite drawing visitors from across the southeast region of the United States for the shopping extravaganza along State Road A1A. Announcing confirmed community sites

for vendor registrations, with home and business registrations in between, the sale is an economic driver for local businesses as shoppers discover new retailers and eateries, and frequent old favorites.

“It’s been a challenging year and people are looking for a sense of normalcy,” said Friends of A1A President Marge Rooyakkers. “We appreciate the opportunity to do our part to support our local communities as they navigate the holiday season and offer options for participation in events that showcase Northeast and Central Florida, while fulfilling our mission to preserve, protect, promote and enhance the A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway.”

Visitors and residents are encouraged to download the free app A1A Scenic Byway Mobi Tour in their app store, powered by TravelStorys GPS, to enjoy the new “Eat, Shop & Play Along A1A” tour stops, from the comfort of their home or as they travel the A1A Scenic Byway.
