Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens today announced the launch of an all new exhibit, Frozen in Time: An Ice Age Adventure beginning March 1. Visitors will have the chance to get an up-close look at woolly mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, cave bears, and more.

Featuring over 35 full-scale, scientifically-accurate animatronics with realistic movements and sounds, the Zoo is offering a unique opportunity for guests to enjoy an interactive experience with the artic ancestors of modern mammals.

“We’re thrilled to bring the fascinating period of the Ice Age to life with our new exhibit, Frozen in Time: An Ice Age Adventure. Visitors of all ages can step back in time to get up close with some of history’s most incredible and larger-than life creatures, while exploring the wonders of the Ice Age in a way that’s both fun and educational,” said Nikki Smith, Jacksonville Zoo’s Chief Philanthropy and Marketing Officer. “With lifelike animatronics and interactive features, we’re creating an unforgettable adventure that is sure to excite families and animal lovers alike.”

This immersive experience includes digging for fossils, learning about different types of glaciers, and even the chance to have snowball fight in Florida! Frozen in Time: An Ice Age Adventure will run March 1 through August 2, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Members of the Zoo will be among the first to experience Frozen in Time before it opens to the public, with an exclusive Member Preview event for active members Friday, February 28, 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., for those who purchase a valid ticket.

Admission to Frozen in Time is included with Total Experience tickets. À la carte tickets will be available to purchase in-person at the Zoo, costing $4 for members or $6 for non-members. Total Experience tickets are $13 for members and $24.45-$35.45 for non-members.
