Martin County is the first destination in the state of Florida to secure an official, county-wide partnership with Leave No Trace. As part of the collaboration, the Office of Tourism & Marketing will work closely with Leave No Trace to develop and continue implementing sustainable tourism practices across Martin County. The innovative partnership will incorporate additional departments under the Martin County Board of County Commissioners (including Martin County Parks and Recreation, Martin County Public Works and the Martin County Library system) to ensure a cohesive implementation of the program. The ultimate goal is to help visitors and residents enjoy the area's natural beauty while minimizing their impact on the environment.

Through the partnership, teams will collaborate on several forthcoming initiatives, including the development of educational materials for visitors, the creation of signage to promote responsible tourism practices, and the implementation of training programs for local businesses, organizations, and other Martin County departments.

Here is a link to the updated ecotourism page here, you can see the programs that will be available by clicking the orange guided ecotourism programs tab. The program opened officially on May 1st.
