Designed to represent a real grocery store, Publix will introduce young learners to grocery shopping and healthy lifestyle choices in a playful way

The Golisano Children's Museum of Naples is excited to announce the grand opening of its newest exhibit, Publix, sponsored by Publix Charities on Friday, January 10 at 10 a.m.

Guests will be able to experience a play-based shopping experience, including Publix bakery, deli, seafood, produce, grocery, dairy and frozen sections. Littles will love filling up their shopping carts from their grocery list, working at checkout just like a real cashier, and even creating their own Publix Subs, sushi rolls, and pizza! This hands-on exhibit provides children and their families with a unique and engaging experience that encourages imaginative play and life-skill building in an environment many already experience together each week - the grocery store!

Colorful wall decals and messaging throughout the exhibit will introduce the connection between grocery stores and farms, while also encouraging the concept that “Exploring Good Food is Fun.” Through imaginative play and other prompts, the exhibit promotes healthy lifestyle choices and a curiosity for and understanding of grocery shopping and food.

“The market at CMON has always been one of our most popular exhibits. So, it makes sense for our museum to collaborate with the most popular supermarket brand in Florida, and beyond—Publix,” said CMON CEO, Jonathan Foerster. “We are so grateful for Publix Super Markets Charities and the team of amazing professionals who jumped in to make building this new exhibit a pleasure. From checking off their grocery list to building their own Publix subs, CMON's little shoppers are going to have an amazing time and learn a lot about food and nutrition along the way.”

Publix will officially open to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 10. Opening day will feature breakfast favorites from Publix, chances to win prizes, and a chance for families to play together in the new exhibit for the first time.

About the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples
The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is a brain-building powerhouse and Southwest Florida’s first museum devoted for children and families to learn through play. With hands-on exhibit galleries, the accessible museum invites visitors of all ages to journey through the swamps of the Everglades, climb a two-story banyan tree, or experiment with the water play station. Children can become a weather forecaster, a farmer, a chef, a fisherman, an artist, an architect, or a veterinarian; explore the cold of an igloo, the whoosh of the wind, the sound of the sea, and the effects of gravity. Throughout the day special activities encourage our guests to get involved, try something new and be energized. CMON offers a variety of interactive exhibits providing kids with education through play.
