ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (Jan. 5, 2021) -- Recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in the country, the Old Jail is shrouded in mystery and lore.  Old Jail After Dark offers guests the opportunity to participate with professionals on an actual paranormal investigation of the St. Augustine Old Jail. The historic building housed prisoners from 1891 to 1953 when it was closed due to its deplorable conditions and the cruelty that it inflicted on its residents.  Perhaps these are the reasons why many believe the Old Jail to be an epicenter for paranormal activity and why it has become a popular destination for ghost hunters and has been featured on Ghost Hunters and Kindred Spirits.

Prior to beginning investigations, experienced guides will share their techniques to prepare participants for any strange and peculiar phenomena that they may encounter. Each guest will be provided with and trained to use an array of traditional and state-of-the-art ghost hunting equipment including a K2 EMF Meter, Flux 2 Paranormal Response Device, Sprit Box SB11, FLIR Thermal Camera and dowsing rods.   Guests are encouraged to bring their own equipment including cell phones for capturing images and electronic voice phenomena.  At the end of the investigation, experts will help you to rule out any logical explanations from your findings and to help you understand any paranormal or psychic phenomena that you may have just experienced.

The 45-minute tour is offered seven day s a week and closed on July 4, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Participants must be at least 13 years old to participate.  For additional information, please visit http://bit.ly/OldJailAfterDark or contact David Chatterton, General Manager, at (904) 829-3800.
