NAPLES, Florida (July 2020) - The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (C’mon) is delighted to announce the opening of their new Inventioneer’s Lab with the Grand Opening scheduled for July 11, 2020 during the museum hours. On that day, members and visitors of all ages are invited to come and be part of a special Open House celebrating this new permanent exhibit at C’mon. Please visit https://cmon.org for our new hours and admission policies.

C’mon’s Inventioneer’s Lab brings together science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) as a significant part of the Lab’s programs, curriculum and activities and is designed to empower kids to move from imagining to doing. Makers of all ages are encouraged to build and experiment in the Lab, as they challenge themselves to solve problems. They’ll learn new, practical hands-on skills as they design, make, evaluate, and rebuild. Kids will take risks on their projects and learn by their successes and failures - just like in the real world. Skill-building projects introduce kids to new tools and materials preparing them to advance to the next step in the process of making.

“We are thrilled to unveil our Inventioneer’s Lab which truly encourages children to share ideas and work together through communication and teamwork. This will leave children inspired, capable, and equipped to take on future challenges both in and out of the museum, all while having fun,” commented Karysia Demarest, Executive Director, C’mon.

The C’mon Inventioneer’s Lab caters most specifically to children ages 7-14, although the activities can be enjoyed by younger children with some hands-on family assistance.

In the future, the focus and theme of the Inventioneer’s Lab will transition to keep up with the times. Upcoming themes for 2020 and 2021 include textiles, design and engineering, as well as coding and electronics. Each transition will bring about a different round of activities, culminating in new, hands-on experiences with real tools and materials — and skills gained with each project to last a lifetime.
