Beachfront property adds 141 rooms, zipline on the beach, and new restaurant concept

ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. – TradeWinds Island Resorts – the Island Grand and RumFish Beach Resort – has added 141 guestrooms to its portfolio, along with a new zip line on the beach, and a new Mexican restaurant concept at the Island Grand. The 141 rooms were part of the property formerly known as the Alden Suites, which was acquired by TradeWinds last March and incorporated into the RumFish Beach Resort. The expansion brings the RumFish Beach Resort room count to 353, for a total of 899 guest rooms at TradeWinds Island Resorts.

“TradeWinds provides such a unique vacation experience with the two neighboring sister properties directly on St. Pete Beach,” said Bob LaCasse, Managing Director, TradeWinds Island Resorts. “We’re always striving to improve and expand our product to keep it exciting, fresh and memorable for our new and returning guests, which is exactly what we’ve done with the addition of our gorgeous new rooms and the zip line on the beach.”

The 141 newly renovated, all-suite guestrooms include Gulf front and resort view villas, as well as seven, two-bedroom villa lanais. Dressed in a stylish palate of whites, grays and navy blues the rooms have been completely updated with new furniture, contemporary flooring, kitchen areas, lighting, new appliances, including stove tops, microwaves and refrigerators, original fishing-themed artwork, and soft goods to match existing RumFish Beach Resort rooms. The expansion also added two pools, a relaxing covered spa area, and a beachfront bar, which can all be utilized by guests at both TradeWinds properties.

Known for its many unique, family-friendly activities, TradeWinds has also added the new Zing Ray Zip, making them the first-ever St. Pete Beach resort with a three-story, dual-line zipline on the beach. Resort guests can enjoy unlimited rides, soaring through the bright blue Florida sky for a thrilling bird’s eye view of the award-winning beach. Many more fun-filled amenities will be hitting the beach this summer at TradeWinds, including the Aqua-Bana, a 10-person covered floating cabana complete with a table and a cooler of ice. The resort has also replaced their floating cabanas with a newer king-sized version and has added new components to the popular Floating Water Park, including a new water slide, catapult swing and monkey bar apparatus. Water’s edge chair and umbrella service is now offered at both properties, giving guests a front row seat to the gorgeous gulf. At the Island Grand, the lively new Bermudas Beachside Cantina is an eclectic Mexican restaurant and bar serving up exquisite flavors and delicious drinks, all with a side of gulf-front views. Diners can sip the Ultimate Margarita on the outdoor patio or feast on killer tacos. The cantina is open Thursday through Monday for dinner service.

The TradeWinds Island Resorts – the Island Grand and the RumFish Beach Resort – are located directly on 40 acres of sugary white sands of the Gulf of Mexico on St. Pete Beach in Florida. The resorts offer limitless beachfront recreation, sumptuous dining, fantastic family activities and programs, and world class meeting and function facilities.
